Curbing Leave Workarounds: Strategies to Promote Appropriate FMLA Usage
This session, presented my a occupational health physician who handles FMLA clarifications, provides tactics and strategies that can help employers curb improper use of FMLA benefits, while strengthening compliance. Participants who attended this presentation learned when an employee can seek clarification of on an intial clarification, when "blanket" recertification may violate FMLA, the criteria that are required for recertification of Intermittent Leave, and the work leave patterns that may identify FMLA abuse.
