Medical Services
Companies often play an important role in the health of their employees. What role are you playing? Are your organization’s health services adding value by keeping employees fit and healthy, or are you simply going through the motions in order to be compliant?
Whether monitoring employees’ health through medical surveillance or attending to them at an onsite clinic, WorkCare offers full-spectrum occupational health services. These services are offered through the primary direction of WorkCare board-certified occupational health physicians. Access to our physicians ensures that you are considering relevant health implications, adding value to an organization’s health and safety goals.
Medical Surveillance
Employers often view compliance-driven programs (those required by OSHA, DOT or other federal agencies) as resource drainers - offering minimal or no return on a company’s investment.
As practitioners in preventive medicine, we believe that medical surveillance programs do add value to an organization - if the process is targeted to the company’s goals, operations and culture. Our approach transforms a compliance-driven program into a benefit-producing process.
WorkCare employs this approach by aligning its services to a client’s organizational objectives. We customize medical surveillance programs to provide clients with solutions and results that go beyond mere compliance. This is our forte. We administer more than 30,000 exams annually, using our physician expertise and business management skills to make health count for your workforce.
WorkCare’s Medical Surveillance services feature a turnkey program that entails:
- Consolidated management of all participants in the medical surveillance program, including timely notification of employee health clearance status to appropriate staff as well as to the employee.
- Streamlined administrative management of employee health exams, including scheduling, participation tracking, consolidated pricing, and record retention.
- Clinic provider management to ensure clinical services are delivered in an efficient, quality-driven manner.
- OSHA recordkeeping services.
Clinic Provider Network
When scheduling exams and testing for employees, an organization can lose valuable time, money and effort trying to find reliable clinics.
As consultants to other companies, WorkCare has credentialed and contracted with clinics throughout the U.S. and several foreign countries. WorkCare has approximately 2,500 provider locations under contract and access to a database of thousands of potential provider locations. This means WorkCare has a total capacity to identify and contract with quality providers at just about any location required.
Drug Testing Services
When it comes to a drug testing program, time plays an important role. Employers need to have their employees cleared for work in an expedient manger.
WorkCare’s drug testing program aims for efficiency and excellent customer service. The program is managed by a team that specializes solely in drug testing to ensure that test results are turned around quickly and accurately. These dedicated employees are committed to excellent customer service and will manage the entire testing process so that your employees can return to work faster.
WorkCare offers complete drug and alcohol testing programs and compliance services for employers nationwide. These programs provide employers with the management expertise needed to design, manage and implement drug and alcohol testing programs and workplace substance abuse services that meet federal and state regulations.
WorkCare serves as a Third Party Administrator for U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) mandated programs and provides MRO services, as well as consultation services, regarding the establishment and development of substance abuse policies and testing programs.
TravelCare®
The primary responsibility of EHS professionals is to protect and maintain employee health and safety at the worksite.
In today’s global economy, however, the “worksite” can be in Asia or Africa, depending on the business. Travel health is designed to assist managers in extending the reach and impact of their corporate health programs to even remote corners of the world.
To meet this challenge, WorkCare’s TravelCare program is designed to assist those managers responsible for workplace health/safety by extending the reach and impact of their corporate health programs all over the world, supporting efforts to maintain a viable and healthy global workforce.
The TravelCare program helps companies provide preventive health services to expatriates and frequent foreign business travelers. The program is scalable to fit a company’s needs—whether travel deployment consists of one or 10,000 employees.
Onsite Clinics
As employers evaluate different methods to improve their employees’ health and productivity, some recognize the need to have health care onsite. Onsite clinics are not only beneficial to the employer, but employees look at them as an added advantage, on par with other benefits like retirement, pensions, and childcare.
WorkCare’s onsite health services are overseen by our board-certified physicians who use an integrated approach to deliver care management and clinical services.
Onsite clinic services are an optimal method to:
- Improve employee access to care;
- Elevate healthy behaviors by employees;
- Prevent injuries;
- Manage healthcare costs;
- Improve worker health and productivity.
Healthy employees can lead to a reduction in absenteeism, disability, employee turnover and direct healthcare costs. Onsite health services, overseen by a board-certified physician, are particularly successful in achieving these outcomes because they offer employees a service that keeps them healthy while helping employers control healthcare costs.
