  • Peter P. Greaney, MD

    -Medical Director, President & CEO

    Peter P. Greaney, M.D.,  has devoted much his career to meeting the occupational health service needs of employers and workers. He is board-certified in both occupational medicine and family practice and he has specialized training in toxicology.

    Dr. Greaney’s experience includes clinic ownership, management and service delivery; designing occupational medicine programs for a variety of businesses; and serving as a corporate Medical Director for national corporations. Industries in which he has experience include biotechnology, environmental engineering, pharmaceuticals, specialty chemical and utility companies, and large wholesale operations. Wherever he goes, Dr. Greaney demonstrates his encyclopedic knowledge of the regulatory environment, root causes of employers’ occupational health and safety challenges, and creative solutions.

    Dr. Greaney completed his training in occupational and environmental medicine at the Southern Occupational Health Center at the University of California, Irvine, where he currently serves as a faculty member and mentor. He also directs operations for the clinical faculty of the University of Southern California.

    Dr. Greaney is a sought-after speaker and contributor to research, journals and white papers on occupational health and safety topics. He is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

    Dr. Greaney stays close to day-to-day operations at WorkCare while teaching and consulting on clincal matters. A prominent leader in the health care industry, he continues his legacy of leadership, accessibility and progressiveness. As WorkCare’s founder, Medical Director and CEO, he establishes a high bar of achievement for the entire organization.

  • Rajy S. Abulhosn, M.D.

    -Associate Medical Director

    Rajy S. Abulhosn, M.D., joined WorkCare as an Associate Medical Director and member of the consulting occupational physician team in early 2016.

    Dr. Abulhosn is based at LEI Medical Group, an occupational medicine clinic operated by WorkCare in San Diego, Calif. He performs medical surveillance and other physical exams for a diverse range of clients including educational, engineering and health care organizations, law enforcement agencies, manufacturers, oil and gas producers, and temporary staffing firms. He also provides business and leisure travel-related counseling, vaccinations and medications.

    Dr. Abulhosn is available to advise companies on occupational health-related issues, serve as a consulting medical director and provide oversight for onsite clinical staff. In addition, he provides care guidance to employers and employees who use WorkCare’s telephonic injury triage service, Incident Intervention.

    Dr. Abulhosn has extensive experience in health care and business settings. He was formerly a physician partner in the Occupational Medicine Department at Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group in San Diego and Medical Director of its Executive Health and Employee Wellness Program. His experience includes service as a district office medical consultant for the California State Compensation Insurance Fund and staff physician in family medicine at Mid-City Community Clinic in San Diego.

    Dr. Abulhosn earned his Medical Doctorate at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Wash., his home town. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in media and journalism. Dr. Abulhosn completed a family practice residency program at Sharp Grossmont Hospital. He is board-certified in family medicine, a certified member of the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine.

    His personal interests include spending time with his family, travel, physical fitness/exercise and soccer, current events, media and journalism, and he is an avid University of Washington sports fan.

  • Jeffrey Jacobs, M.D., M.P.H.

    -Associate Medical Director

    Jeffrey A. Jacobs, M.D., M.P.H., joined WorkCare as an Associate Medical Director and member of the consulting occupational physician team in May 2016.

    Dr.  Jacobs has more than 20 years of experience in workplace health and safety in a variety of practice settings. He supports WorkCare’s clients and their employees as a consulting medical director and clinical adviser.

    Prior to joining WorkCare, Dr. Jacobs served as the corporate physician in an onsite health clinic for a pharmaceutical manufacturer. He formerly was medical director of Employee Health Services at a tertiary care hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where he is based.

    Dr. Jacobs is committed to achieving the goals of the Triple Aim – to optimize health outcomes, reduce health care expenditures, and enhance the patient experience for individuals and populations. Dr. Jacobs supports the practice of evidence-based medicine and advocates methodologies that increase employee engagement in their work and personal health.

    Dr. Jacobs is board-certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, with specialization in occupational and environmental medicine. He earned his Master of Public Health degree at the University of California, Berkeley. He completed residencies in occupational medicine at the University of California, Davis, and in preventive medicine at the California State Health Department. While with the state, he provided the clinical link between individuals and communities exposed to environmental hazards and epidemiologists and community outreach staff in the Environmental Health Investigations Branch.

    Dr. Jacobs is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), a delegate to the ACOEM House of Delegates and President of the Pennsylvania Occupational and Environmental Medicine Society. He is a Certified Medical Review Officer and a member of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.

    When not working, Dr. Jacobs can be found cheering on his son in multiple extracurricular activities, thanking his lucky stars to have a supportive wife and agonizing over the Philadelphia Eagles.

  • John Paul M. Longphre, MD, MPH

    -Associate Medical Director

    John Paul M. Longphre, M.D., M.P.H., joined WorkCare as an Associate Medical Director in 2008, working from his home base in North Carolina. His acuity in health issues related to corporate productivity and employee wellness contributes to WorkCare’s mission to protect the health and well-being of workers while supporting employers’ business objectives.

    A medical graduate of the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Dr. Longphre has a Master’s Degree in Public Health and completed an internship in general surgery at the same institution. He is board-certified in occupational medicine and is licensed to practice in 29 states. His Fellowship in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine and residency in Occupational Medicine completed at Duke University Medical Center, along with his fluency in Japanese, brings a distinctive blend of proficiencies, skills and experience to the company.

    Dr. Longphre has written numerous articles and book chapters and his research has been published in peer-reviewed academic medical journals.

  • Patrick D. O’Callahan, MD, MPH

    -Associate Medical Director

    Patrick D. O’Callahan, M.D., M.P.H., is an Associate Medical Director with WorkCare, where he provides occupational medicine consulting services to a number of clients across the industry spectrum.

    An occupational medicine and family physician, he formally served as Medical Director and Assistant Clinical Professor for Occupational Health at Stanford University and the SLAC DOE accelerator laboratory in Palo Alto, Calif. He has provided occupational health care and clinical oversight in manufacturing, pharmaceutical research and development, and hospital-based settings.

    Dr. O’Callahan has extensive experience developing and running complex medical surveillance programs in research settings involving work with research animals, biological and chemical agents and emerging technologies. He has also worked extensively in emergency medicine, and he is a certified Medical Review Officer.

    Dr. O’Callahan received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and his Master’s in Public Health with an occupational and environmental medicine emphasis from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

  • Dennis W. Stephens, MD

    -Vice President, Medical Affairs

    Dennis W. Stephens, M.D., Vice President of Medical Affairs, is board-certified in family medicine and has considerable experience in occupational medicine.

    Dr. Stephens is responsible for clinical quality oversight. He consults to WorkCare clients on health and productivity management, Family and Medical Leave Act clarification, injury and disability management and related areas. He provides coverage for onsite clinics, telephonic care management, and is involved in the review of  medical surveillance exam results. He serves as a Medical Review Officer for drug test interpretation and OSHA compliance monitoring. In addition, he is a member of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.

    Prior to joining WorkCare, Dr. Stephens served as Medical Director for a San Leandro, Calif.-based medical center and as a practicing family physician for many years in Southern California.

    Dr. Stephens’ background and training in family medicine, combined with his extensive knowledge in disease prevention, wellness and nutrition, contributes to his ability to help employees restore and maintain their health and be productive contributors at work and at home.

    He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley and his Medical Doctorate from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the Western Occupational and Environmental Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

    Dr. Stephens has contributed to numerous medical publications and remains committed to patient and employer education and health promotion.

  • Peter Swann, MD, MPH

    -Vice President

    Peter Swann, M.D., M.P.H., is a valued member of WorkCare’s clinical team. He provides medical direction and business development insights for the organization.

    Dr. Swann’s training and board-certification in occupational medicine, combined with his considerable business experience, makes him a natural as an industry consultant. He understands how to balance the health and well-being of employees with established business practices and goals.

    Dr. Swann has held positions as a clinical practitioner, emergency physician and Medical Director at companies and regional clinics. His experience includes redesigning medical information management systems, training and mentoring other physicians, and serving on institutional administrative boards.

    He maintains an active teaching practice and is in demand as a speaker, including participation on panel discussions sponsored by the University of California, the Western Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association and other organizations.

    Dr. Swann graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business and earned his Medical Doctorate at Tufts University School of Medicine.

  • Jonathan M. Szenics, MD, MPH

    -Associate Medical Director

    Jonathan M. Szenics, M.D., M.P.H., comes to WorkCare from Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where he served as Medical Director of Occupational and Employee Health Services. He has more than 25 years of experience in the specialty of occupational medicine.

    Dr. Szenics has a well-established presence in the Northeastern United States. He is licensed to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Tennessee and has additional licenses pending.

    Dr. Szenics formerly operated a solo private clinical/consultative occupational and environmental medicine practice in Allentown, PA, and the greater Philadelphia area. He has been a consultant (clinical, research and advisory board) to private sector manufacturers, service industries, insurers, hospitals and labor unions, and to public sector organizations. He was a clinical assistant professor at the Rutgers Environmental and Occupational Health Science Institute and Medical Director of Capital Health’s Corporate Health Program, Trenton, NJ.

    Dr. Szenics received his medical doctorate from UMDNJ-Rutgers Medical School in Piscataway, NJ., and his Master of Public Health degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed residency training in preventive medicine/occupational medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is board-certified in occupational medicine, a fellow in the American College of Preventive Medicine and a National Board of Medical Examiners Diplomate.

    His interests include technology to prevent vocational and avocation hearing loss and patented inventions of an audio signal enhancement and application system and a stringed musical instrument.
