Peter P. Greaney,
M.D., President
Peter P. Greaney, M.D. is
the company president of WorkCare. He is
board-certified in occupational medicine and
family practice and is a specialist in
toxicology.
He has been formally trained in the specialty of
occupational and environmental medicine at the
Southern Occupational Health Center at the
University of California, Irvine, where he is
currently a faculty member. He is also on the
clinical faculty of the University of Southern
California.
Dr. Greaney has designed occupational medicine
programs for a variety of companies and serves
as a corporate medical director consultant to
numerous national companies, ranging from
biotechnology, environmental engineering, and
pharmaceuticals to specialty chemical and
utility companies. His service includes
providing consultation in occupational
medicine/toxicology, assessing potential on-site
health risks, implementation of federal drug
abuse detection programs and multi-site medical
surveillance programs.
In 2004, Dr. Greaney was one of 10 participants
selected-out of a pool of almost 200
applicants-to present at a NIOSH symposium,
Steps to a Healthier US Workforce. This event
was aimed at discussing how employer best
practices can integrate individual worker health
and healthy lifestyle promotion with protecting
and improving working conditions. At the event,
Dr. Greaney presented the paper, "Bridging
the Gap Between Occupational and
Non-occupational Medicine Practices to Improve
Employee Health."
In November 2001, Dr. Greaney was recognized by
NIOSH at a national workshop on Best Practices
in Workplace Surveillance. He co-authored the
case study "A Model Medical Surveillance
Program For Persons in Hazardous Waste
Operations" which demonstrates the impact
of elevating medical monitoring programs to a
best practice level. Another accomplishment is
his election in 2002 as the Speaker of the House
of Delegates for the American College of
Occupational and Environmental Medicine, an
international medical society of more than 6,000
occupational and environmental physicians.
Robert Blink, M.D., Vice President
Dr. Blink is a medical
director and vice president of the firm.
He is a board-certified occupational medicine
physician and a certified medical review
officer with over 20 years of experience
in occupational health.
Prior to joining WorkCare, Dr. Blink founded
Worksite Partners Medical Group to provide
Bay Area businesses with consultative services
related to evaluation and treatment of occupational
injuries, risk management and medical-legal
issues. In this capacity, he helped employers
reorganize on-site medical departments to
regain appropriate controls of injury and
disability management and to ensure optimal
compliance with OSHA, ADA and FEHA issues.
He has extensive experience in providing
occupational medicine care and consultation
to employers and employees, including large
construction projects at refineries, a steel
mill, and public works projects, among many
others. He also has considerable expertise
in the biotechnology sector, providing consultative
services to several multi-international
biotech clients regarding medical protection
for employees working with novel technologies
and substances.
He is very familiar with both California
Workers' Compensation, including the 2004
significant regulatory changes, and OSHA
300 log issues. Dr. Blink has developed
medical/toxicological surveillance programs
for compliance with NIOSH/OSHA as well as
the FDA, European Union and NAFTA GMP requirements.
Dr. Blink was trained in occupational medicine
at the University of California, San Francisco.
He received his master's degree in public
health from the University of California,
Berkeley.


Elaine Arcellana
Tonel, D.O., M.S., Assistant Medical Director
Dr. Tonel is a graduate
from the University of California, Irvine
(UCI), Residency Program in Occupational
and Environmental Medicine. Prior to entering
the field of occupational medicine, she
completed her family medicine training at
Loma Linda University Medical Center. She
is both board-certified in occupational/environmental
medicine and family medicine. In addition
to her clinical training at UCI, Dr. Tonel
also received a Master of Science degree
in Environmental Toxicology. Her work while
at UC Irvine involved work injury/illness
management and medical surveillance and
fitness for duty examinations for government
and regulatory agencies, law enforcement,
and private industry. Also, while at UCI,
Dr. Tonel served as the physician consultant
for Cal OSHA's Division of Occupational
Safety and Health Medical Unit and the City
of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
As Assistant Medical
Director at Workcare, Dr. Tonel's work currently
involves providing onsite clinical support
for various clients in the mining, energy,
construction, and pharmaceutical industry.
In addition, she serves as an occupational
medicine consultant for various corporate
clients and is involved in health and productivity
management.
