Dr. Anthony Harris Joins WorkCare as Associate Medical Director

Physician Offers Blend of Clinical Expertise and Tech Know-how

ANAHEIM, Calif.  – Anthony Harris, M.D., M.B.A., M.P.H., has joined WorkCare, Inc., as an Associate Medical Director.

Dr. Harris is board-certified in occupational and environmental medicine. He leverages diverse experience, clinical expertise and entrepreneurial talents to find solutions that successfully address significant employee health challenges.

“My personal philosophy and drive to improve health care delivery to the U.S. workforce is well-aligned with WorkCare’s mission to protect and promote employee health,” Dr. Harris said. “WorkCare has a proven track record as an innovator in this area. That’s why I joined the WorkCare team.”

In his role, Dr. Harris oversees clinical aspects of client engagements, provides care guidance to employees via WorkCare’s Incident Intervention telehealth program and contributes to strategic business development. His responsibilities include taking the lead in the implementation of WorkCare Wearable Ergonomics Assessments using bio-sensor technology and the development of a virtual physical therapy program.

“Dr. Harris brings us a great deal of knowledge in digital and integrated health, wellness, ergonomics and wearable technology in injury prevention,” said Peter P. Greaney, M.D., WorkCare’s president, chief executive officer and medical director. “From his home base in Chicago, he is readily accessible to employers and employee populations in the Midwest and beyond.”

Dr. Harris is the former medical director of Community Occupational Medicine, LLC, a full-service occupational medicine provider with seven clinic locations and onsite operations in northern Indiana. He has worked as a health care consultant with a focus on market research, product design and business development since 2006.

He  collaboratively invents medical devices and holds several U.S. and international patents. He is a co-founder and interim CEO of two medical device start-up companies. He served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Missouri Technology Corporation state board charged with promoting economic development in high-tech and life science industries, and he continues to serve on several advisory boards in his areas of interest.

Dr. Harris earned his medical and masters of business administration degrees at the Indiana University School of Medicine and Kelly School of Business, and his masters of public health degree at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He has general surgery training, and he completed fellowship training in bio-design and innovation at the University of Missouri.
