WorkCare, Inc., acquired Corporate Health Resources, Inc., (CHR) effective Nov. 30, 2022, to further expand its occupational health outreach to U.S.-based employers, the companies announced today.
CHR will retain its name and operate as a WorkCare company while conducting business as usual with the same leadership, team members and service delivery model. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
CHR is a nationwide occupational health examiner network service provider. Based in Rockville, MD, the company was founded in 1986 by Karen Cohen, RHIA, who will remain as president. Other CHR services include support of corporate medical department administrative functions and placement of consulting medical directors at companies that do not have onsite clinical staff.
“The size, strength and enhanced offerings of WorkCare provide a bright future for CHR, particularly in the areas of information technology and human resources,” Cohen said. “Finding a future home for CHR and our employees with a like-minded, quality-driven organization made the decision to sell to WorkCare an easy one.”
The acquisition allows WorkCare to expand its existing occupational health provider network and leverage resources and expertise at both companies to exceed clients’ expectations. “CHR is a natural fit for us while allowing CHR to continue to operate with a considerable degree of autonomy,” said WorkCare’s President and CEO William E. Nixon.
